Ira Joe Fisher & Ted Ruddock present 'Speaking Fearlessly'

             A friend, Ted Ruddock, and I launched a venture called Speaking Fearlessly.  It’s a workshop that addresses the fear of public speaking.  A common fear.  Ted is a veteran of the business world in which he served as the Chief Learning Officer of MBIA.  He has vast experience working with business executives and a gift for holding an audience.  My years in broadcasting, acting, teaching, and performing have led to an approach that has given me an effective approach to an effective presentation.  Speaking Fearlessly emphasizes strengths and knowledge.  Yours.  Speaking Fearlessly simplifies your approach in preparing your presentation.  Speaking Fearlessly is not a bag-of-tricks.  It is strategies for lowering anxiety and raising confidence.  Yours.   

            Ted and I spent a number of months looking at this issue and developing our program that gets to the heart of effective public speaking.  Or – a better term –  communicating.  We teach the skills and stress the practices that are effective. Skills that have been taken for granted.  Our program is simple, focused, and worth implementing even if you have only a modest desire to improve your performance, your communicating.  Before large or small groups.  In meetings with only a few people …or only one person.      

            We have worked with Daylight Forensics, Ability Beyond Disability, and American Express.  We introduced two pilot programs in Ridgefield’s Keeler Tavern Garden Room.  Participants arrived nervous, carrying the weight of their life-long discomfort (or out-and-out phobia) at speaking to an audience.  They departed with their comfort and confidence rising.  And the confidence will continue to rise as they revisit the concepts and strategies we introduced.
