St. Stephen’s Organist to Perform Recital on Sunday

Frank Zilinyi, organist at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, will present an organ recital at the church on Sunday, April 21, at 4 p.m. St. Stephen's is located at 351 Main St. in Ridgefield.

Mr. Zilinyi's program will feature pieces from the early 17th to late 19th centuries, including works by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, J.S. Bach, and Cesar Franck. He will conclude the recital with the Double Fugue on "God Save the Queen" by American composer John Knowles Paine (1839-1906).

Since graduating from the Oberlin Conservatory in 2008, Mr. Zilinyi has been an active concert artist, with performances at the organ and in chamber ensembles throughout the U.S. and Germany. In 2007 he won first prize in the Agnes Fowler Organ Competition and the following year won the Strader Organ Scholarship Competition, which allowed him to complete his studies at the University of Cincinnati. He was appointed organist at St. Stephen's in October 2012.

The concert is free and open to the public.
