Ridgefielder Jenn Marr & Addie on Good Morning America: Bringing Comfort, One Pet at a Time

Many first responders on the scene in the wake of the Newtown tragedy and Boston Marathon bombing, were not people. Canine Comfort Dogs, part of a Lutheran ministry based in Addison, Illinois, are trained to interact with people at churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, events and in disaster situations. Presently 60 dogs, wearing a vest that says 'Pet Me', are making people smile, hope, and heal.

Ridgefield resident, Jenn Marr, is part of this special ministry. She and her dog, Addie are currently spending time helping Newtown heal. Marr, together with eight other dogs and handlers, appeared on Good Morning America today. The Canine Comfort Dogs and their handlers were Invited by ABC studio's when Lara Spencer, lifestyle anchor for Good Morning America, took an intimate interest in the dogs and their mission.

On Friday, May 10, the Canine Comfort Dogs will be at First Lutheran Church of Boston for the Memorial Service for the Boston Marathon bombings. The service is at 10 am and is open to the public.
