Countdown to the Power of Peace Fest

This family-friendly event to promote peace and kindness will be held on Sunday, August 11 from 12-7 at Bushnell Park in Hartford. With music, motivational speakers, crafts, art, food and the release of live butterflies, this promises to be a special day.

While admission is free, the organizers would appreciate modest donations for homeless veterans, including socks, chapstick, waterless toothbrushes, sanitizer, handy-wipes, q-tips, and lotion.

The festival promotes various social causes, all in the spirit of peace. Voices for Heroes of Sandy Hook joins POW/MIA; Western Connecticut Alzheimer's Foundation; Team Rachel: Walk For Autism, Newtown Kindness, HealingNewtown, Make-A-Home, Catching Joy, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Soldier's Angels, Cystic Fibrosis; Give2thetroops, and more.
