Ridgefield Police Reports: Larceny from Kohl's & Liberta's, Underage House Party, Criminal Trespassing

On Tuesday, July 30 at approximately 11:08 pm, Police responded to Minuteman Road for a noise complaint. An investigation found an underage drinking party. The host was charged with allowing minors to possess liquor during the incident one of the guests damaged a police cruiser and was charged with criminal mischief.  

On Thursday, August 1 at approximately 2:34 pm, Ridgefield Police responded to Liberta's Spirit Shoppe located at 393 Main Street. Police spoke with the store employee, who stated that a 6 foot tall white male with an English accent came into the store to ask about job opportunities. On the way out of the store he grabbed a bottle of vodka and ran down Main St. The employee stated that the individual had been in the store last month to apply for a job and left his name and phone number. Police contacted the individual, who is a resident of Prospect Ridge Road and asked him to come to the Police Department for questioning. He came in for questioning and he matched the description given by the store employee, and was charged with Larceny in the 6th degree.

On Thursday, August 1 Police located a Danbury resident inside an abandoned house on Bennett's Farm Road. The property is marked no trespassing. Police learned of a warrant issued by the court for immediate incarceration for a larceny complaint. The man was issued a misdemeanor summons for criminal trespassing and given a court date. He was then transported to The Bridgeport Correctional facility where they took him into custody.

On Sunday, August 4 at approximately 5:30 pm, a Ridgefiled woman was stopped and detained by the Kohl's in-house loss prevention personnel for the larceny of items totaling $249.08. The woman was observed attempting to leave the store with items without paying for them. The woman was issued a misdemeanor summons for Larceny in the 6th degree and issued a court date.
