Say 'Yes 2 Youth' fundraiser a success!

Many Ridgefielders came to The Community Center last night to say 'Yes 2 Youth’. Local businesses provided products and service toward the fantastic silent auction. Proceeds of the auction and admittance fee supported the Graham Dickinson SPIRIT Skate Park and The Barn- both of which have made a positive impact on our youth by providing them a place of recreation, refuge and socialization.

Yes 2 Youth is the “brain child” of the Youth Commission, spear headed by Lauren Gotimer (chair of the event), Denise Qualey (Ridgefield Youth Commission Chair) and Linda Caponetti (Director of the Barn & Skate Park). "It began as a movement of sorts, to rally the community to support our youth. They are priceless assets to the town and need our help to support the facilities our town has for them,"  explains Gotimer. "While Yes-2-Youth currently supports the Barn teen center and the Graham Dickinson S.P.I.R.I.T. Skate Park,  through our fundraising efforts we hope to be able to expand this support to more youth movements," she continues.

Great live entertainment was provided by ‘Tyrtle’, a rock band composed of some RHS students and recent graduates: Scott Wilson (acoustic), Jack Rodamer (bass/drums), and Jeff Allen (guitar).
