Lucky little kids to visit the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange for St. Patrick's Day

WHEN:  10 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2012
WHERE:  Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road, Weston, CT

You may remember Myrtle, the adorable lap goat that visited the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange just a few months ago. Well, prepare yourselves – Myrtle and her fellow herd-mates have begun giving birth to the next generation of milking does at The Butterfield Farm and they are coming to Weston!

Each year the farm names the offspring based on a theme. In past years, flowers (Crape Myrtle is her real name we have learned), foods, (Artichoke, sisters Ziti and Zucchini and Meatball to name a few) and this year, cities! On Saturday, March 17th from 10am to 2pm at the Norfield Grange we will host a photo opportunity and chance to meet Havana, Cleveland, and Seoul. The kids, goat kids that is, will be dressed in their best St. Patrick's Day outfits and ready to get photos taken with anyone that wants to snuggle with them for a minute or two. Representatives from the farm will be on hand to discuss the different breeds of goat, how to care for them and just how similar they are to human kids.

At the Winter Farmers Market at Norfield Grange, families can defy winter while purchasing farm fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, maple syrup, goats milk cheese and yogurt, handmade soap and body products, natural beef and pork, wild-caught seafood, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods, and more. Visit our Crafters’ Corner, and support local artisans with beautiful hand-knit hats, hair accessories, boxwood wreaths and trees, live orchids, soy candles, pint-sized couture, artwork, pottery, jewelry, and much more! The Market is open every Saturday, from 10am to 2pm at the Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road, Weston, CT 06883.
