Ridgefield Education Foundation Launches "Merchant of the Month"

The Ridgefield Education Foundation (REF) has announced the launch of its' "Merchant of the Month" program to promote local business. The Little House Shoppe will be the featured business for May.

"This is about celebrating and supporting Ridgefield as a whole. Our local businesses and our schools are two gems that make Ridgefield special. Now you can shop local and support REF all at once", says Jonathan Seem, REF Executive of Development.

Christy Kinsman, owner of The Little House Shoppe, thinks REF has got it right. "It's wonderful to have a non-profit organization approach local businesses with ideas to help attract new customers rather than simply asking for donations." Ms. Kinsman has joined REF's newly formed Business Advisory Council along with Mary-Kate Gobleck, owner of Reliance Merchant Services, and Maria Markus, owner of The Tutoring Club.

The Little House Shoppe will be hosting a Flora & Fauna Mother's Day Garden Party Extravaganza on Thursday, May 1st. "We'll have light refreshments, beautiful tablescapes, inspiring ideas, a raffle and the chance to meet some of our fabulous artisans, all while supporting REF." 10% of the day's proceeds will be donated to the community organization.

"We're delighted to partner with Christy to kick off our Merchant of the Month program. She has great gift ideas for Mother's Day! Stay tuned in the coming months for more great local shopping days in support of creative, innovative and collaborative programming for all of Ridgefield's learners", states Avery Costigan, REF President.

The Little House Shoppe is located at 113 Danbury Rd, in the Copps Hill Plaza, and is open daily.

The Ridgefield Education Foundation looks to support initiatives that focus on 21st century learning. By serving as a catalyst for innovative programs, leveraging the use of technology and enhancing the resources available to educators, REF hopes to help move education forward. The foundation is a community based 501c3 not-for-profit organization. All donations are considered tax deductible. If you are a business interested in participating in our programs, please contact us at: info@ridgefieldeducationfoundation.org. The foundation always welcomes new team members!
