Ann's Place Set to Honor Paul P. Dinto

The Board of Directors of Ann's Place recently voted to name Paul P. Dinto Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Dinto, President & CEO of Paul Dinto Electrical Contractors Inc., retired from the Ann's Place Board in March after serving for twelve years, six of those years as its Chairman and seven years as its Building Chairman.

The recognition, announced by Board Chairman David Nurnberger, acknowledges the pivotal role Mr. Dinto played in the success of the campaign to fund the construction of Ann's Place at 80 Saw Mill Road. According to Nurnberger, "The cancer community would not be able to access the expanded services of Ann's Place today in this comforting environment were it not for Paul's philanthropic and visionary leadership."

Acting President & CEO of Ann's Place, Anthony Zeolla, echoes that sentiment. "Paul richly deserves our gratitude. So many cancer survivors benefit daily from his initiatives and generosity."

Paul Dinto will be formally honored on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Matrix Conference & Banquet Center at the Kick-Off Party for Festival of Trees, his favorite annual event.

Dinto's activism in the business and philanthropic communities on local and state levels has earned him numerous honors, including the City of Danbury & Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Cecil J. Previdi Award; Western Connecticut University 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year; and the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut 2010 Subcontractor of the Year Award.

His leadership of the unprecedented collaboration within the construction trades industry to build Ann's Place helped propel the AGC of Connecticut Chapter to win a 2014 national award from the Associated General Contractors of America for their members' role in the project, while Dinto himself won the Connecticut Construction Industries Association Community Service Award in December 2012.

Paul Dinto serves on the Boards of Savings Bank of Danbury, the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut, and The Roman Catholic Center For Mental Health And Spiritual Direction, as well as serving on the Advisory Council of the Women's Center of Danbury. He is past Chairman of the Development Fund of Danbury Hospital and a member of the Henry Abbott Tech Hall of Fame. Paul and his wife Elaine, Professor Emerita at Naugatuck Valley Community College, reside in Danbury.
