Richter Park Golf Course and The Nathan Lounsbury Foundation are partnering to host the first annual Nathan's Big-Cup tournament on October 6, 2014. The big-cup format which has gained popularity on the West coast has made its way to Danbury and gives golfers significantly increased odds of success on the green by using a hole twice the size of the standard 4 ¼ inches.
The Nathan Lounsbury Foundation was formed to raise funds and award grants to programs researching sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and support groups for the families of this rare but devastating occurrence. Stephanie Omasta Lounsbury and Wayne Lounsbury, Jr. of Danbury, CT lost their beloved son, Nathan William Lounsbury at the age of six months on April 17, 2013. They are honoring his memory through the efforts of this organization.
