Lyme Connection Charity DJ Ride at JoyRide Cycling Studio in Ridgefield November 14th

JoyRide Cycling Studio in Ridgefield is pleased to announce the Lyme Connection Charity DJ Ride on Friday, November 14th at 6:30pm. The talented DJ Yosif will be LIVE in studio playing today's hottest hits to get you rockin' to the beat for this 50 minute, seriously fun, indoor cycle class fundraiser - an incredible experience for an important cause.

The minimum donation is $50 per bike and all proceeds will go to Lyme Connection (formerly known as Ridgefield Lyme Disease Task Force). For over ten years, volunteer co-chairs Karen Guardian and Jennifer Reid have worked hard to develop ongoing educational efforts around tick-borne disease including the BLAST Prevention Program that has been presented to groups all over the state. In addition, they run three support groups every month and answer countless phone calls from desperate patients and parents looking for resources and reassurance.

Local Lyme activist moms Rachel Volpone and Stacey Schibli are each parents of Lyme kids and avid JoyRiders. Together they conceived of the fundraiser. “I connected with Karen and Jennifer through the Lyme Connection and to say that they have been helpful to me and my daughter is a huge understatement. I cannot speak highly enough of what they have accomplished with very little financial support other than a few private donations and grants,” said Ms. Volpone. “They are not funded by the town. This is an issue that concerns all of us especially parents/grandparents of highly vulnerable kids.”

All participants will also receive one raffle ticket to win an original painting by Rachel Volpone, who recently won the Ridgefield Guild of Artists 37th Annual Juried Exhibition Best in Show award for her piece “Map History”. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased in increments of $50 to win the painting.

“We are honored to be supporting the Lyme Connection fundraiser at JoyRide Ridgefield,” said co-owner Amy Pal. “We have gotten to know Rachel as a regular JoyRider in our studio and feel so fortunate to help with this cause. Lyme Disease is something that touches all of our lives in Ridgefield and is an ongoing concern for our community. We hope the ride will raise funds and awareness for the amazing work done by Lyme Connection.”
