Ann’s Place Appoints Two New Board Members

 

The Board of Directors of Ann’s Place is pleased to announce the appointment of Wilda Morgan Hayes and Beth Ann Fetzer to its Board. 

Wilda Morgan Hayes brings with her an extensive non-profit and business management and marketing background, having served on boards and as an operational officer at two Danbury area non-profits since 1987.

A Texas native and Lamar University graduate, Wilda sold a family retail business in 1975 to work in the pharmaceutical industry.  She joined Boehringer Ingelheim in 1978 and was promoted to work in Houston’s Texas Medical Center in 1981.  She was appointed Memphis District Manager in 1984, supervising reps in a five state area.  In 1987, Wilda took a cardiovascular marketing position at BI’s corporate office.  She left in 1991 to become a Vice President/Account Group Supervisor at Kallir, Phillips, Ross Medical Advertising Agency in Manhattan, supervising work on McNeill’s Tylenol®, as well as Upjohn international products launches before returning to Danbury and the non-profit sector.

Wilda led Ann’s Place for 16 years, through its expansion of services and through the process of planning, construction and completion of its permanent home, retiring in 2013.  She continues to volunteer and chaired the 2014 Festival of Trees fundraiser.  Fairfield County’s Community Foundation holds a permanent fund in Wilda’s name, to which the public can contribute; its earnings become annual operating grants to Ann’s Place.  Wilda resides in Danbury, CT.

Beth Ann Fetzer joined the Savings Bank of Danbury in April 1998.  Currently she is the Community Development Officer/Assistant Vice-President at the Bank.

Before joining Savings Bank of Danbury, she was employed as Executive Director of the Western CT Unit of the American Cancer Society and previously worked for over seven years for the United Way of Northern Fairfield County, Inc. as Vice President.

Beth Ann is a graduate of Danbury High School and Eastern Connecticut State University with a BA in History. 

Beth Ann is a member of the Lions Club of Danbury and was elected the first female president of the club (1997-1998).  She was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow from Lions International in 1994 and the Connecticut Knight of the Blind in 2000.  She is a former member of the CityCenter Board of Commissioners and was Chairman of the Personnel Committee.  Beth Ann was a member of the Board of Directors of Hanahoe Children’s Clinic; and was a former member of the Board of Directors for the Danbury Music Centre where she chaired the Personnel Committee and the Evening in Vienna Committee.  She is a volunteer for the United Way of Western Connecticut and serves as a member of the Funder’s Group.  In addition, she was Co-chair of the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury Quarter Century Campaign and currently serves as a member of the Women’s Center Advisory Committee. 

In May 2007, Beth Ann was honored by the Women’s Center for her work on the Quarter Century Campaign.  Since July 2009, Beth Ann has served on the Board of Directors for TBICO (The Bridge to Independence and Career Opportunities) in Danbury.  She currently serves as Board Secretary and Chaired the By-Laws Committee.  In October 2014, Beth Ann received the Advocate of the Year Award from TBICO.  Beth Ann is a member of Danbury’s Aging in Place Planning Council.  In addition, Beth Ann served as a member of the Search Committee for President of Ann’s Place.  She resides in Newtown, CT.
