Tea Time for National Charity League's Ridgefield Chapter

The National Charity League Ridgefield Chapter recently held its Annual Mother-Daughter Tea at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, CT.  A tradition that dates back to the organization's early days, the Tea is traditionally a time to celebrate another year of shared activities and support of over 40 different local, regional and national philanthropies while enjoying each other's company at a beautiful venue.

While dining on tea and sandwiches, over 200 mothers and daughters were treated to an inspiring presentation from Megan Searfoss, founder of the Run Like a Mother 5K events and newly-opened Ridgefield Running Company as well as author of the book See Mom Run. Mrs. Searfoss spoke to the necessity of exercise and staying active, describing her personal journey to fitness.  Especially meaningful was her advice to the girls to make fitness as rote as brushing their teeth, urging them to step away from social media and remember to live mindfully by moving their bodies -- today, while they are in school, later in college, and beyond.

Another greatly anticipated highlight of the event is a Fashion Show wherein girls from the Junior class model stylish clothing from local retailers.  The girls look forward to showcasing a versatile collection of outfits and accessories; it's a rite of passage and great fun for all.

The National Charity League, Inc. is a philanthropic-based organization that offers a unique experience to mothers and daughters as they volunteer side by side.  Committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experience, the Ridgefield Area Chapter is comprised of girls in grades 7-12 and their mothers who collectively donated approximately 4,600 hours of service this past year.

The Chapter wishes to thank the Rolling Hills Country Club, Bise, Tiger Sports, The Candlelight Shoppe, Lyn Evans, Suburban Underground and Audrey Road for their support of NCL.
