Allison Stockel is honored for philanthropy & volunteerism

Last night hundreds of Connecticut residents,  including many government officials, gathered at the Amber Room in Danbury to honor and celebrate locals who have distinguished themselves through their philanthropy and tireless volunteerism.

Among these remarkable individuals was Ridgefield resident & Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse, Allison Stockel. The United Way of Western Connecticut awarded Stockel with the "Hometown Hero Award" saying, "Allison’s generosity goes well beyond The Playhouse; she quietly supports a large number of organizations in Ridgefield, greater Danbury and other surrounding communities by serving on numerous Boards and leading local fundraising efforts. Allison also delivers food as part of the Hillside Food Outreach program and is actively involved in their fundraising galas as a committee member. In addition, Allison enjoys hosting two wonderful girls from A Better Chance."

The celebratory evening included a live and silent auction, Keynote Speaker Sonia Manzano, who is best known as "Maria" on the PBS show, Sesame Street. NFL Stadium Announcer, John Heffernan, served as the evening's Emcee and Auctioneer.

Thank you to the photog of the evening, Alicia Craybas of Maple Hill Photography in Bethel for capturing the evening and sharing the photos with HamletHub.
