National Day of Prayer-Prayers for the People by the People
Our hearts are blessed by the outpouring of love and support by the Town of Ridgefield during the National Day of Prayer event, “Wake Up, America!” Hosted by Sisters in Community on Thursday, May 5th at the Community Center’s beautiful Lounsbury House.
This event could not have been such a successful and poignant event without the involvement of many townspeople and businesses, to whom we are very grateful.
Foremost, we would like to thank Melanie of the Lounsbury House whose gracious hospitality and attention to details made all aspects of the day flow smoothly both in preparation and as our numbers grew.
We would like to thank all the Ridgefield businesses whose generous donations of, programs, flowers and food. Thank you: The UPS Store, Rodier Flowers, Genoa Deli, and Stop and Shop.
We would like to thank the many Ridgefield residents involved in making this amazing day possible. The hospitality team was led by Lori MacDonald. The community was welcomed by our greeter Mimi Phillips. These servants provided a beautiful atmosphere, from the welcoming entrance through the beautifully displayed luncheon in the sunny dining room.
Prayer volunteers from the Ridgefield community brought heartfelt expressions of care and concern for many areas including: the town of Ridgefield, families and the hungry, youth and children, addiction, clergy, the electoral process, long term illness, business, first responders, our nation and military, and peace in our world. Thank you to Karen Halac, Rudy Marconi, Sharon Lavatori, Josh Leslie, Tim Hastings, Harriet Yamasita, Nadine Salvesen, Carmine Coco de Young, Marty Heiser, Kevin Tappe, Caroline Heiser, and Ingrid Gordon.
We are very grateful for the community of Ridgefield that cares enough about our town, our country and our world, to gather and pray on this special day.
