St. Mary's Walk for Water on Saturday, October 15

St. Mary's Walk for Water 5K will take place on Saturday, October 15 from 8:30 am to noon.

Walk for Water raises funds to provide families in Guatemala with clean drinking water.

St. Mary's explains:

People in the village of Santa Maria de Jesus, Guatemala have to walk for water that is NOT EVEN CLEAN.  Children and families suffer from continual parasitic infections, which have a deleterious impact on health.  Last year we raised enough money to provide almost 400 families with clean water.  Our goal this year is to provide 500 more families with clean drinking water.

We are partnering with Sacred Heart University and Iglesia del Camino in Guatemala to provide each family with a Sawyer water filter which will purify up to 1,000,000 gallons of water.

The cost of each filter is $50.00.  If you wish to make a donation, checks may be made payable to Saint Mary Parish and delivered to the Parish office.

Participants will begin the walk St. Mary's Church and walk through the downtown area of town.

St. Mary Parish is located at 55 Catoonah St.
