Freedom Quilts for Ridgefield Refugee Family Part of Jesse Lee MLK Service Project

Jesse Lee Church Martin Luther King Jr. Day Congregation Service Project on Monday, January 16 from 10am – noon in Martin Hall

You are invited to a morning of service in celebration of Martin Luther King Day. "We will have an opening presentation on Rev. Dr. King’s ministry, as well as singing of freedom songs followed by activity stations," Jesse Lee explains.

Activity stations will include making 100 bag lunches, cutting and sewing fleece hats and scarves, braiding dog toys, baking muffins, and weaving pot holders. "All goods will be donated to the Ridgefield refugee family from Syria," they say. In addition, attendees can make "freedom quilts" and warm hats and scarves for the Ridgefield refugee family.

Jesse Lee is in need of volunteers to help at the activity stations supervising sandwich making and packing lunch bags, sewing on buttons, measuring and cutting fleece, running a sewing machine, weaving potholders, mixing muffin dough, and baking muffins. If you can help during the event, please contact Kerry Marino at cmadmin@jesseleechurch.com. You can also click here and fill out the form on the bottom of the page.
