Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Performs in Khalda Logan Dance Scholarship Benefit on Sunday

Connecticut Ballet will hold its annual Khalda Logan Dance Scholarship Benefit performance on Sunday, March 19 at 4:30pm at Broadview Middle School, 72 Hospital Avenue, Danbury.

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Ridgefield Civic Ballet and Apprentice Ballet Ensemble are proud to perform in this special Dance Benefit. The ensemble is choreographed by Alexander Glaz and Edgar Cortes. "Help us raise funds for a good cause!" says RCD Artistic Director, Amy Piantaggini. Funds raised will benefit young dancers from Danbury middle and high school. 

Connecticut Ballet explains, "All members of the community are encouraged to attend this collaborative performance featuring dance styles from ballet to hip hop to ballroom and ethnic dance. Participating area schools include Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, Fineline Theatre Arts, Academy of Dance Arts, Connecticut Ballet Center, Seven Star School of Performing Arts, Darien Dance Center, and Monroe Dance Academy."

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under and are available at the door.

The Khalda Logan Dance Scholarships are named in memory of Khalda. Logan, an original member of the ballet’s Danbury Dance Initiative Task Force and beloved WestConn faculty member who succumbed to cancer four years ago.

Monies raised will be distributed to Danbury middle and high school youth chosen by audition to enable them to pursue accelerated or foundational dance training.
