850 hosts fundraiser for Civics First & helps RHS students compete in National Mock Trial Competition

850 Degrees in Ridgefield will host a fundraiser this Thursday, March 24 for Connecticut-based Civics First, a private, non-profit association that promotes & conducts law-related education programs & projects. Civics First is the organization that runs the nationwide Mock Trial competition for high school students.
"Ridgefield High School will be going to nationals we need to raise funds to help compete and pay for the services and activities," says Nick Baughman, RHS Mock Trial team member. The competition will take place on May 11 in Hartford.
From 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Larry Debany, the owner of 850, has generously offered to donate 10% of all dine-in and takeout orders to Civics First.
Each year approximately 30,000 students participate in local high school mock trial competitions throughout the United States, Guam, South Korea, and the Northern Mariana Islands.  From May 11 to 13, 2017 Civics First will host the best teams from each of these states and territories at the 2017 National High School Mock Trial Championship in Hartford, CT.
