Ridgefield Mothers & Daughters Share Passion for Service at 2017 Philanthropy Fair

Nutmeg Chapter of National Charity League Philanthropy Fair: Mothers & Daughters of Share Passion Helping Others

Thanks to twenty-nine local non-profits and their passionate leaders and volunteers, nearly two-hundred mothers and daughters of Ridgefield's Nutmeg Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL) enjoyed a fun evening while learning more about serving and supporting our community.

NCL's 2017 Philanthropy Fair featured enthusiastic NCL members and volunteers who showcased local charities with creative and educational tri-folds, posters, brochures and photos.

The event, held last week at Scotts Ridge Middle School, allowed attendees to share their passion for service while educating others about the community service and volunteer options available in and around Ridgefield.

Whether it's packing food at the Hillside Food Outreach, sorting books at the Ridgefield Library, delivering meals for Meals on Wheels or serving brunch at the Greens Assisted Living, the opportunities to serve others are plentiful.

NCL members and nonprofit representatives in attendance shared their experience creating arts & crafts with SPHERE friends, helping with logistics at Rides for Ridgefield events, writing letters of appreciation for US Troops, preparing for city kids to spend the summer at New Pond Farm and calling bingo at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center.

Philanthropy Fair organizer and NCL VP of Philanthropy, Leslie-Alin Tewes said, "It is our joy... our service from the heart to support the community".  She added, "Special thanks to the Philanthropy Liaisons, Patronesses and Ticktockers who created displays and the organizations' representatives who joined us that night.
