Ridgefield resident Elizabeth Butler is heading to West Virginia this weekend to hike 23 miles in the Dolly Sods of West Virginia for childhood cancer research.
The “Ultimate Hike for CureSearch” is a series of outdoor fundraising adventures in which participants hike 20-30 miles in one day to raise money towards finding a cure for children's cancer.
Elizabeth will hike with her sister Anne in memory of Anne’s daughter and Elizabeth’s niece, Eloise who passed away from Rhabdomyosarcoma in 2010 at the age of 14. Elizabeth says she will also have her mom close at heart during her hike. “My Mom who passed away 6 weeks after Eloise and urged us all to do all that we can to find a cure for childhood cancer,” says Elizabeth.
Please consider supporting Elizabeth by donating toward her Ultimate Hike. “You will make a difference in the lives of the 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day," says Elizabeth, who adds, “Five of the 43 children diagnosed every day do not survive."
"Please, support me as I help change the odds for those children most at risk. Thank you for helping me work tell children's cancer to take a hike!” says Elizabeth.
The mission of the nonprofit CureSearch is to end children's cancer by driving targeted and innovative research with measurable results in an accelerated time frame.
