ScoutsCAN Donates $2500 to Ridgefield Food Pantry

ScoutsCAN donated $2500 to Ridgefield Food Pantry last week.

On behalf of all BSA Troops in Ridgefield, representatives from Troop 76 Spencer Carlson and Evan Kaye shared the funds with Tony Phillips, Director of Ridgefield Social Services.

Local boy scouts from every Troop sort, bag and collect the $.05 deposit from plastic bottles and aluminum cans donated at the Ridgefield Recycling Center.  "It's a great effort organized and executed by Scouts to benefit Ridgefield residents" stated co-Coordinator Tiffany Carlson.  "The Town has been terrific in supporting Scouts while they encourage recycling.  The Scouts determine where the monies go and so far addressing food insecurity right here in Ridgefield seems to be their focus."

ScoutCAN has been an ongoing effort since 2008.  ScoutsCAN is all about raising funds to support local residents in need while encouraging recycling, waste reduction and environmental stewardship.
