Keith Richards Auction Raises Funds for Two Ridgefield Nonprofits

This past Saturday, June 24, world-famous guitar legend Keith Richards, a resident of Connecticut and his wife Patti Hansen auctioned off an array of antiques from their Upper East Side apartment.  Benefiting from the proceeds of the auction are two beloved Ridgefield nonprofits - SPHERE and The Prospector Theater.  Both organizations support adults with developmental disabilities and have positively impacted the life of Hansen’s twenty-four-year-old nephew who is autistic.

The auction, which included art and antiques, including French, Italian and English furniture, Persian carpets, paintings and crystal, took place  at Stair Galleries in Hudson, NY.

While we are awaiting confirmation from Stair Galleries on the the exact amount netted from the auction, we do know that the collections of Keith Richards and Patti Hansen raised in excess of $100,000 for the nonprofits. You can view the items and selling prices here.

“This is beyond anything we could have imagined and we are so grateful to Keith and Patti for their generosity and support of adults with intellectual disabilities,” said SPHERE Chairman of the Board.

Berisford says that every penny SPHERE receives will be put into enhancing the programs offered to members.  “The money raised by this auction will help the 60 plus members in SPHERE continue to enjoy the programs that enrich their lives,” says Berisford.
