JoyRide Hosts Charity Ride to Benefit Brooke Blake on October 13 in Ridgefield

JoyRide of Ridgefield is hosting a charity ride on Friday, October 13 in honor of Brooke Blake, a young Ridgefield student battling a rare brain tumor. All funds raised will go to the Blake family to cover medical expenses.

A “tween” ride will be held from 4:30 – 5:20 (must be 12 years old and 4’10” to participate) followed by an adult ride at 6:00. The cost is $40 for tweens and $50 for adults. Refreshments will be served following each ride.

Please visit www.joyridestudio.com/Ridgefield to reserve a bike.

Brooke Blake, a nine year old 4th grader at Barlow Mountain Elementary School was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare form of brain cancer in December 2015.  After much research, her mom discovered a treatment in Monterrey, Mexico, that holds much promise for Brooke and many other children with DIPG.

Brooke is receiving intra-arterial treatment along with immunotherapy treatment but the
treatments are not covered by insurance because they are administered outside of the US.  All funds raised at this charity ride will go directly to cover Brooke's medical expenses.
