New Aldrich Educator to Lead Art and Writing Workshop

Danielle Ogden, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's Senior Manager of Education Programs and School Initiatives, will lead a free educators' workshop from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 23.

Ms. Ogden will demonstrate how looking closely at art can spark the imagination and build observation and creative thinking skills, while introducing The Aldrich as a source of inspiration for cross-disciplinary learning. Participants will discover the art on view through writing, learning activities that are designed to motivate students while making direct connections with the required Common Core State Standards.

The workshops will take place in the galleries, with the current Music exhibition series as the backdrop. Ms. Ogden joined The Aldrich in January 2014 after over five years as Education Director at the Westport Arts Center. She holds a Master's Degree in Art History from Boston University and a Master's from Harvard University's Arts in Education Program.

Music is a series of exhibitions and related events that explore the intersection of art and music in photography, installation, sculpture, new media, performance, and archives.

Admission is free. Registration is required. For more information or to register, visit www.aldrichart.org/events/?id=1824 or call 203.438.4519. The Aldrich is located at 258 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
