Family Fun at The Aldrich: make your own piñata on Saturday

Third Saturdays: Family Art Experiences at The Aldrich

Editor's note: HamletHub is a proud sponsor of The Aldrich Museum series of "Family Art Experiences", an event that celebrates art, family, and creativity.

Saturday, January 18 · 10 am to 3 pm

Embrace the Mexican tradition of piñatas, brightly colored papier-mâché sculptures filled with goodies. Visitors will create their own piñatas, experiment with different techniques to decorate the paper sculptures, fill and then playfully smash them.

From 10 am to 12 noon, children aged two to five are invited to play in the galleries, followed by storytime and art-making. From 1 to 3 pm, children aged six to ten are invited to engage in gallery games and hands-on art projects. Leonardo will work with the children of both age groups.

Each session will include snacktime and although the workshops are geared to a specific age range, siblings and friends of all ages are welcome to participate. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

FREE for members and chldren 18 and under; FREE with the price of admission
