Placing bets for BEST CHOWDA Today

The 6th Annual Chowdafest was a SOUPER event today with record breaking attendance at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.

From 11am to 3pm, nearly 7 thousand hungry judges strolled from table to table sampling various chowders, bisque's, and soups created by 28 award winning chefs & restaurants - all of whom desire to earn the title: Best Chowda.

Chowdafest began 6 years ago when founder, Jim Keenan, decided to bring local restaurants and foodies together in an effort to  raise money for the Connecticut Food Bank. The pre-Super Bowl event has grown leaps and bounds as foodies and football place their bets in the premier culinary competition of the year.

"The success of Chowdafest is based on a number of factors: truly great restaurants who love to come and compete; dedicated chowdaheads with strong opinions and taste buds, and a mission to feed hungry people in Connecticut," explains Keenan.

By the way, Bernard's was in the running with their "Classic New England Clam Chowder".

Thanks to Mr. Jim Keenan for his hard work and dedication. This was truly an exceptional event.
