Dwight "Doc" Gooden's story transcends baseball. The four-time MLB All-Star an, three-time World Series champion, Dwight "Doc" Gooden is ready to take his painfully honest message of addiction and recovery to teens and their families in a special event at The Playhouse on Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. With fresh and sober eyes, he will share the most intimate moments of his life – from the highs and lows of his three World Series rings to the endless self-destructive drug binges. This event is part of the "Get Real" Series for Families & Teens, Hamlet Hub's A Whole New You Series and the Moffly Media Entertaining Conversations Series. Dwight Gooden won the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year Award in 1984, as he led the league in strikeouts. He went on to win the NL Cy Young Award and a Triple Crown in 1985. While a member of the Yankees, Gooden threw a no-hitter in 1996.
