Temple Sherith Israel's 4th Annual Mitzvah Day

What's a mitzvah? It's a good deed and Temple Shearith Israel invites you to devote an afternoon to community service activities by participating in its fourth annual Mitzvah Day. On Sunday, May 4th between noon and 4:00pm, volunteers will collaborate on a number of projects such as planting flowers, crafting with seniors, caring for homeless animals or making gifts for hospitalized children. TSI invites the Ridgefield community to participate in this day of fun, partnership and giving. Bring the family, as there will be activities appropriate for volunteers of all ages.

Mitzvah Day begins at noon at Temple Shearith Israel, 46 Peaceable Street in Ridgefield, with a kick-off pizza party. From there, workers will travel to project sites around the community. Local beneficiaries include ROAR, the Daily Bread and Ridgefield Food Pantries, Kids in Crisis and the Laurel Ridge Nursing Home. Mitzvah makers will reassemble at the temple at 3:30pm for an ice cream celebration and slide show.

To register or request more information, please contact Debbie Landzberg of TSI's Social Action Committee at dlandzberg@gmail.com, or call the temple at 203-439-6589. Registration is required. There's no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, so put Mitzvah Day on your calendar today.
