An Archivist's Perspective of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum's archivist, Barbara L. Toplin, will offer insights into Museum's history while leading an exploration of the current exhibitions from 10 to 11:30 am on Saturday, April 26.

Mrs. Toplin will share fascinating stories about founder Larry Aldrich and the iconic art he collected during the Museum's formative decade, 1964 to 1974, and discuss the original materials from the institution's archive presented in the galleries in conjunction with Standing in the Shadows of Love: The Aldrich Collection 1964–1974, Part 1. The exhibition examines Mr. Aldrich's legacy through the works of memorable artists he championed early in their careers—Robert Indiana, Robert Morris, Ree Morton, Robert Rauschenberg, and Robert Smithson—a practice that continues at the Museum today.

After enjoying light refreshments, participants are invited to continue the tour outdoors to learn about the Museum's award-winning architecture.

The tour is free for members and children 18 and under; free with the price of admission for non-member adults. The Aldrich is located at 258 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
