For the first time on stage together at The Ridgefield Playhouse, Tom Chapin, Livingston Taylor & The Jammin' Divas perform as L.T.D. on Thursday, May 1

For the first time ever on stage, The Ridgefield Playhouse will present L.T.D. -- Livingston Taylor, Tom Chapin and the Jammin' Divas -- on Thursday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. For the layperson, Taylor and Chapin are widely regarded as folk family royalty, and newcomers The Jammin' Divas are all individually known as international folk icons. The artists will play their own music and collaborate with one another throughout the show. The spectrum of music runs from folk to ballads to contemporary, which when accentuated by stunning harmonies and story telling, will make for a memorable evening of music! Fifty Coins (426 Main St., Ridgefield) will take 10% off the dinner bill the night of this event when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter Series.

Livingston Taylor, Tom Chapin and The Jammin' Divas found themselves together in New York City in early 2014 when someone fortuitously mentioned that the world is in need of a new folk group. One thing led to another, and the result was "L.T.D." The show features unprecedented harmonies, memorable audience interactions and collaborations never before seen. Each artist will perform individually as well as with one another throughout the show.

Tom Chapin and Livingston Taylor are two of the most revered and loved singer-songwriters of our generation. The Jammin' Divas are an exciting new contemporary folk music group. Each of them brings their own unique sound and repertoire to the stage and then blends their voices and unique talent together, presenting a truly memorable evening of song, stunning harmonies and superior musicianship.

In a career that spans five decades, 24 albums and three Grammy awards, the multi-talented singer-songwriter-guitarist Tom Chapin has traveled two long and productive parallel musical paths, both as a treasured contemporary folk artist and as a pioneer in the field of children's music. In concert, he serves up a mix of ballads, comedic and political songs, family music, sing-alongs, old-time folk classics and some he borrows from his late brother Harry. As a poet, satirist, humanitarian, family man, environmentalist, Tom's songs tell the stories of our times.

Singer-songwriter and consummate stage performer Livingston Taylor (brother of James)has been entertaining with his sometimes quirky, irreverent, soul-baring songs for four decades. Since he was 19, he has written most of his repertoire including such hits as "I'll Come Running", "I Will Be in Love with You" and "Boatman", later recorded by brother James.

The Jammin' Divas are Aoife Clancy(Irish), a Grammy Nominee with Cherish the Ladies, Nicole Zuraitis (USA), Kath Buckell (AUS), flutist Hadar Noiberg (from Israel) and Craig Akin (USA) on bass, who blend stunning renditions of traditional and contemporary original folk music and elements of improvisation from each of their cultures. Through stunning three part harmonies bedded against the plush melodic landscape of the flute and double bass, The Jammin' Divas draw the audience into an experience that transcends three continents' history by sharing songs and stories of how each country culturally influences and enriches one another.
