Party with Latin America's #1 Reggae Band, Cultura Profética, when they bring their traditional reggae, Latin rock, bossa nova, salsa and ska to lift everyone up at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, July 31, at 8 p.m. Originally from Puerto Rico, Cultura Profética have toured in Puerto Rico and across the Caribbean, Central America, South America, Mexico and the United States. Canción de Alerta, their debut album, was recorded in the Tuff Gong studios in Jamaica with Bob Marley's sound engineer and was a critical and commercial success boasting hit radio singles. For their second album, Ideas Nuevas, the group began fusing reggae with other rhythms including bossa nova and jazz. A DVD covering their performance at Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum was released in late summer 2008. Ticket holders will be treated to a Cavit Collection Wine Tasting in the lobby at 7:15 p.m. courtesy of Palm Bay International.
