Laugh yourself silly when newbie stand-ups take the Ridgefield Playhouse stage!

Comedian Christine O'Leary brings her newbie stand-up comics to stage on Sunday, August 10, at The Ridgefield Playhouse

The Comedy Workshop Graduation Showcase on Sunday, August 10, at 11 a.m. at The Ridgefield Playhouse is a chance to see up-and-coming comics make their debut in front of a live audience. They were brave when they signed up for Christine O'Leary's Stand-Up Comedy Workshop this spring, and now they are funny (funnier). Ticket holders will enjoy bagels and schmears beginning at 10:15 a.m. in the lobby. Who knows, the next big celebrity comedian may come from this crop! Comedian Christine O'Leary's popular workshop, one of several adult course offerings at the Playhouse, is in its fifth season, a testament to the large number of people who have been told they're funny and want to hone their craft.

Christine O'Leary is an award-winning professional comedian/social worker, project manager, social media editor and co-dependent social butterfly who wants everyone to be happy. Her off-the-cuff interactions and improv are what make her so endearingly funny, and storytelling is her crafted skill. She urges people to attend the Comedy Graduation Showcase "...to see these hysterical newborn comics who had more guts than you did eight weeks ago when they signed up! Comedy is a way to tell the truth."

For tickets ($10), call the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
