Songwriter/actor Chris Isaak returns to rock The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, September 3

Songwriter/actor Chris Isaak got his big break when director David Lynch used Isaak's song "Wicked Game" in the film Wild at Heart. After several Gold records and appearances in notable films, Chris Isaak is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, September 3, at 8 p.m. with a repertoire of hits and new songs including the sweeping melancholy of Roy Orbison’s classic singles ("Crying," "Oh, Pretty Woman," "In Dreams") and the more stripped-down, rootsy sound of his latest release Beyond the Sun, which pays tribute to the roots of rock ‘n’ roll. In concert, he’ll showcase his smooth, dusky baritone voice and cool take on ‘50s and ‘60s rock & roll. His hits include "Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing" and “Somebody’s Crying.” Special guest is Jeff LeBlanc, a folk-rock indie singer/songwriter whose talents have taken him on tours throughout the east coast.

Gallo Ristorante (5 Grove St., Ridgefield) will pour a complimentary glass of house wine or draught been with dinner the night of this event when ticket is presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a cocktail party from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d’oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795). This event is part of the Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer/Songwriter and Xfinity Rock Series.

With a quarter century of music under his belt, Isaak has created the 15th album, the one he always wanted to
make, Beyond the Sun, which rings with his signature mix of pathos and humor. A lot of Elvis is evident in the timeless “Trying to Get to You,” “I Forgot to Remember to Forget,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” “How’s the World Treating You,” “It’s Now or Never,” “She’s Not You” and “My Happiness,” the first song Elvis ever recorded. Isaak opens the set with Cash’s “Ring of Fire,” and later offers his take on “I Walk the Line.”

For tickets ($95), call the box office at 203-438-5795.  For more information on The Ridgefield Playhouse, visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
