Comedian Tig Notaro’s Boyish Girl Interrupted Tour will stop at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Monday, September 29, at 8 p.m. She is called “a comic’s comic”, and her stage persona is somewhere on the Steven Wright-Todd Barry-Mitch Hedberg continuum. Hers is a distinct brand of observational comedy. Tig is known for her debut role in the feature film In a World, her work in Shreveport with Ryan Phillippe and Walk of Shame with Elizabeth Banks. No holds barred for this comedian who tells it like it is – from doing a bit on pop star Taylor Dane to announcing to the audience that she had breast cancer, Tig’s stand-up has become "instantly legendary" with many comedians praising her work. This event is part of the Clark Construction Comedy Series.

Tig Notaro was nominated for a Grammy Award for her sophomore comedy album LIVE. The album sold in excess of 100,000 units in just six weeks, which is unheard of for comedy albums today. Louis CK is quoted as saying that it is one of the best stand-up performances he ever saw.  During this album release, Tig was reviewed and profiled by The New York Times, The New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, GQ Magazine, Rolling Stone and Time Magazine.

Tig has appeared in a number of television shows and most notably as “Officer Tig” in The Sarah Silverman Program and has guest starred on The Office, Community, In the Motherhood (with Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines) and on many other comedy shows and specials. This counterintuitive comedian has also had her own half-hour special: Comedy Central Presents Tig, and she is a regular on Conan and on PRI’s This American Life with Ira Glass. Tig’s writing credits include The 63^rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by Jane Lynch and The 2010 MTV Movie Awards hosted by Aziz Ansari.
