20th Annual Bernese Mountain Dog Parade TODAY!

 

The 20th Annual Bernese Mountain Dog Parade takes place TODAY beginning at 1pm at St. Stephen's Church in Ridgefield. The walk will take place rain or shine (and hopefully it will SHINE by this afternoon!) Happy tails will start wagging at St. Stephen’s Church (351 Main Street) where the traditional blessing of the animals will take place. 

"We will meet at St. Stephen's Church at 351 Main Street, promptly at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 11," says Patti Ballard, Bernese Mountain Dog Parade planner. "We will stroll up Ridgefield's charming Main Street, returning to St. Stephen's where we will congregate on the back lawn of St. Stephen's Church and enjoy the afternoon visiting with each other and our Berner companions," explains Ballard.

Here are some details:

Potluck lunch – Please bring your favorite dish to share (something easy to make or to buy)…appetizers, sandwiches, main course, desserts, or your special creation! (We will provide tents and tables, and plenty of plates, cups, napkins, etc. and cold water for all.)

Please bring:
 A contribution to our pot luck luncheon to share with each other.
 A chair or blanket.
 Several clean up bags for picking up after your dog.
 A water bowl for your thirsty friend(s).
 An optional $$ donation for R.O.A.R. (Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue)
