Pop-Up Nail Salon with Vanity Projects at the Aldrich on Saturday

Treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind art manicure! Vanity Projects, a luxury concept salon from New York City directed by independent curator Rita de Alencar Pinto, merges a high-end nail-art atelier with video art programming in its Lower East Side space. Now, Vanity Projects will create a one-day-only pop-up salon in The Aldrich. Innovatively designed manicures from the most sought-after nail artists will be offered in exhibiting artist David Scanavino's immersive and colorful installation.

Scanavino's Imperial Texture, a site-specific linoleum floor sculpture and large-scale wall relief, and Kate Gilmore's exhibition A Roll In The Way, a new video and site-specific sculpture memorializing a private performance produced within the Museum's walls, will serve as the inspiration for the custom nail art. Salon-goers will choose their Aldrich manicure of two art nails and eight slickly painted monochromatic nails from designs created exclusively for the Museum.

Light refreshments, welcoming remarks by executive director Alyson Baker, and tours by our expert museum guides will round out a unique day of art and pampering.

Book today! Space is limited and reservations and advance payment are essential! All registered guests will receive confirmation of their manicure via email. Registration is only available online; to reserve your manicure, click here.
