Natalie Cole is "Unforgettable" at the Ridgefield Playhouse

Editor's note: HamletHub South Yonkers editor, Ardina Seward traveled to Ridgefield last night for the Natalie Cole concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse. Let's just say....she LOVED it! Here's her recap:

Neither nor'easter or the recovery from a cold could stop the Natalie Cole concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse.  A full capacity crowd rocked, swayed and cheered to the tunes of the beautiful balladeer  It didn't take more than a few minutes for Cole to spring from the doldrums to a class act of perfect pitch and warmth.

The familiar voice of her father, Nat King Cole, emerged midway through the concert and blended into a Spanish tune that became an eerie duet. The vocals were so natural that one expected Nat to materialize from behind the curtain. That was only part of the magic.

The real magic was her litany of Latin, Country, and Gershwin, bundled into a seamless repertoire of songs that were neither cliche nor boring. Her closing numbers of Unforgettable, and This Will Be, brought the audience to their feet.

The Ridgefield Playhouse is the perfect venue. Seats are arranged to allow for unobstructed from every vantage point. Parking is free and convenient.  Their winter schedule boasts top name acts that will not disappoint.  Check it out.
