Best of classic rock live at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, November 1, with Creedence Clearwater Revisited

It’s classic rock at its “Suzie Q” best when Creedence Clearwater Revisited plays all the CCR hits true to form on Saturday, November 1, at 8 p.m. Hearing “Fortunate Son,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” “Down on the Corner,” “Travelin’ Band,” “Up Around the Bend” and more classic rock live will be a cathartic blast from the past! The exhilarating energy of Creedence Clearwater Revival is captured by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame original members Stu Cook (bass) and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford (drums). Special guest is Doug Wahlberg Band, a rock-blues band with an international following. Gold Circle tickets include a cocktail party with open bar and hors-d’oeuvre from 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. Bartolo (103 Danbury Rd., Ridgefield) will pour a complimentary glass of house wine with dinner the night of this event when ticket is presented. This show is partially underwritten by Cucumber & Chamomile and is part of the Xfinity Rock Series.

CCR’s fan base runs the gamut from Baby Boomers to their grand kids who dig classic rock. When Creedence Clearwater Revisited performs with their lineup of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford along with multi-instrumentalist Steve Gunnar, John Tristao on vocals and rhythm guitar plus Tal Morris on lead guitar, they exude an exhilarating energy with a repertoire that includes some of “…the best American rock ever written and recorded.” (Hollywood Reporter’s Music Critic John Lappen) Creedence Clearwater Revisited released a double live CD of 22 classic hits, Recollection, which went Platinum. The group has toured North America, South America, New Zealand, Europe and Asia wowing audiences with songs that are still the staple of radio and movie soundtracks.

For tickets ($125 Gold Circle seating includes cocktail party; $110 orches., $95 mezzanine/balc.), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or buy tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
