Ridgefield HS participates in The Big Read

As part of The Big Read, Ridgefield High School (RHS) held a read aloud of The Great Gatsby in the school's library today. RHS principal, Dr. Stacey Gross, began reading F. Scott Fitzgerald's decadent novel of the Jazz Age in America at 8:15 a.m.; and after 4 hours and 45 minutes, and many readers, listeners finally heard, "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

This is not the only event celebrating The Big Read at Ridgefield High School.  RHS students are joining with the Friends of the Ridgefield Library to sponsor two inter-generational The Great Gatsby Book Chats.  The first is on Monday, November 3, at 6:30 p.m., at the Library (please register), and the second, which will be at RHS Student Center, is on Tuesday, November 18, at 6:30 p.m. (please register).  RHS students will facilitate these small group chats, and the Friends will provide Gatsby-era refreshments.

If you cannot attend either of these events, here is a listing of all The Great Gatsby events in Ridgefield.
