Country music hit maker Phil Vassar will bring his feel-good country style to The Ridgefield Playhouse Friday, January 16

With irresistible hooks and equally good looks, Phil Vassar’s piano-based brand of country music is infused with a feel-good, R&B groove.  Known as one of country music’s top hit makers, Phil Vassar has landed in the Top 5 seven times with his songs “Carlene,” “Last Day of My Life” and “American Child” and was at the top of the charts with  “In A Real Love” and the perennial favorite “Just Another Day in Paradise.” Known as one of Nashville’s top tunesmiths, singer/songwriter Phil Vassar has penned hits for many artists who have had  #1 honors: Tim McGraw’s  “My Next Thirty Years,” Alan Jackson’s “She’s Right On The Money” and Jo Dee Messina’s “Bye, Bye” and “I’m Alright,”  Vassar’s talent represents an impressive 13 singles in the Top 20 including three Number Ones and three Top Fives.  A consummate entertainer in his own rite, Phil Vassar will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, January 16, at 8 p.m. Special guest is Bobby McGrath, a contemporary country singer/songwriter from New York City. The Ancient Mariner (451 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. This event is part of the Northeast Builders of Ridgefield, LLC Country Series with media sponsor 105.5 and 106.3fm KICKS Today’s Best Country.

Vassar has racked up a notable number of awards from the Academy of Country Music, Billboard, MusicRow and CMA and was ASCAP’s two-time Songwriter of the Year.  New artist David Nail had a hit with Vassar’s “The Sound of a Million Dreams,” which Billboard named the #1 song in their Top 10 Country Songs of 2012.

“If you love great entertainment and you have never seen a Phil Vassar show, then you are missing something fantastic. Country music's ‘Piano man’ has a way of connecting with the audience that I haven't seen since Garth Brooks. Take well written and arranged songs, a beautiful baritone, skilled and soulful piano playing, high energy and an extremely talented band, and you will walk out of the show so glad you came...!”, raved a recent Phil Vassar concert goer.
