Rat Pack Redux
The “Reincarnated” Rat Pack Visits the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra
In the 1960’s, the Rat Pack were truly a cultural phenomenon. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr. were not only fast friends, but were entertainers par excellence. While known for their movies together, Ocean’s 11 and Robin and the Seven Hoods among others, their Las Vegas performances are truly the stuff of legend. They ruled the Vegas Strip from the Sands Casino, with great music, witty patter, stage high jinks and a jaunty je ne sais quoi.
Embracing that legend, the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra is presenting The RAT PACK on Saturday, March 7th, 8:00, Clune Auditorium at Wilton High School. Take a trip back in time to the hip 60’s, and pay a visit to the Vegas Strip and the Sands Casino. Great music is the centerpiece of the show- The Lady is a Tramp, That’s Amore, The Candy Man, My Way and many more classics, in authentic musical arrangements under the direction of Maestro Jerry Steichen. The music is classic and cool, and is framed by the stage antics of Frank, Dean and Sammy. This isn’t just a concert, this is a show, a performance that will entertain and bring back memories of a hipper, bygone era.
Ladies and gentlemen, live from the Copa Room via the Clune Auditorium… the Rat Pack! Tickets for the March 7th performance at Clune Auditorium are available at the door or online at the orchestra’s website, www.ridgefieldsymphony.org.
