Few tickets remain for Joan Armatrading at the Ridgefield Playhouse

Just a few tickets remain for Joan Armatrading in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, April 9, at 8 p.m. She is a three-time Grammy nominated British singer/songwriter who is going solo playing a crowd-pleasing mix of magical old favorites plus more recent compositions such as “Love and Affection,” “Willow,” “Drop The Pilot” and “Me, Myself I." During her long and illustrious career, Joan has been successful in all musical genres -- pop, blues, folk, reggae, and jazz. This farewell to the touring circuit after 42 years marks the first time that Joan has toured as a solo performer, accompanying herself on guitar and piano without the aid of other musicians. Armatrading promises that this performance will feature material encompassing her entire storied career, which boasts more than 20 albums, the most recent being her acclaimed 2012 release Starlight.

Special guest is Starnes & Shah, a folk duo compared to the Indigo Girls and Wilson Phillips for their complex and beautiful harmonies.

Bailey’s Backyard (23 Bailey Ave., Ridgefield) will take 10% off the dinner bill the night of this event when tickets are presented. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 – 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d’oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show, which is part of the Xfinity Rock Series with media sponsor WFUV 90.7fm. For tickets ($75), call the box office at 203-438-5795, or order tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org.

The Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
