Jesse Lee Church Presents The Living Nativity on December 4

Watch as the Christmas story unfolds before your eyes when Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church presents its annual “Living Nativity” on Fri., Dec. 4 during Ridgefield’s “Holiday Stroll.”

All are invited to the free performances at 7 p.m.  As in 2014, this year’s performance will be presented on the front steps of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main St., to be more convenient to revelers in town for the “Holiday Stroll.”

Members of St. Stephen’s choir will join with Jesse Lee’s in the free 20-minute performance.

Behold Mary and Joseph as they arrive at the stable; angels who bring tidings of great joy; shepherds keeping watch over their flock by night; and three kings bearing gifts as they traverse afar.

“We’re all bombarded at this time of year with secular distractions, claiming a Christmas theme and fighting for our attention,” said the Rev. Bill Pfohl, Jesse Lee’s senior pastor. “We’re excited to bring the focus back to the important original narrative, with hopes that folks will carry its message of peace and comfort and promise through the season. ‘The Living Nativity’ also is a marvelous opportunity for children to see the story play out right in front of them.”

This presentation of the birth of Christ will bring meaning to the season, with angelic choirs, live animals, costumed actors and a wondrous star.

For more information about the “Living Nativity” or Jesse Lee’s holiday schedule – including the annual Christmas concert by The SymphoNYChorus on Sat., Dec. 12 and Christmas Eve services, call the church office at (203) 438-8791 or go to www.jesseleechurch.com.
