CANDLEBOX Rocks the Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, February 10

An intimate acoustic duo performance on Wednesday, February 10 beginning at 8:00 pm.

Formed in 1990, CANDLEBOX has sold over 8,000,000 albums worldwide and are considered one of the greatest American rock bands of that time.  They found immediate success with the release of their self-titled debut album in July 1993. It featured some of the band’s biggest hit singles, including “Far Behind”, “You” and “Cover Me”, and was certified platinum four times by the RIAA Two more successful albums, Lucy and Happy Pills, followed and CANDLEBOX toured relentlessly until 2000 when they took an indefinite hiatus.

The band reunited in 2006, and two years later they released their fourth album, Into the Sun, followed by an extensive tour. Their latest album, Love Stories & Other Musings, was released in April 2012.  CANDLEBOX are currently hard at work on their new album, which is set for release on March 11, 2016.

Kicking off the night is Connecticut native Christian “Opus” Lawrence. He has opened for Zak Myers of Shinedown, Sevendust (unplugged), for both Scott Ian’s (Anthrax) and Dave Ellefson’s (Megadeth) spoken word tours. In 1997 he formed Gargantua Soul and spent the next decade creating a cult following as the 7-piece nu-metal/hard rap-rock group. Gargantua Soul was the only unsigned band to play Woodstock ’99, and they appeared on VH1’s Farm Club, Howard Stern Show, and on ESPN to name a few. After the band broke up in 2005, Opus went on to create the heavy metal band Dead by Wednesday.
