Kids ages 4-14 compete in three age groups on a completely closed course. Enjoy this awesome family outing right here in Ridgefield!

Organized by the Ridgefield Bicycle Sports Club and sponsored by the Ridgefield Recreation Center, the third annual Ridgefield Kids Duathlon will feature three age group races of a run-bike-run sequence, all taking place at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation, Ridgefield, Connecticut. Age groups are 4-6, 7-10, 11-14 co-ed. The course is closed to cars. All racers and spectators must enter the park by 8:45 am and cars cannot depart the park until the final race is complete.

Race date is Sunday, June 12, 2016, 9 am.

Course

All races take place on the grounds of the Ridgefield Parks & Recreation.

The entire course will be closed to traffic.  

  • Ages 4-6: 100-yard run, 250-yard bike, 100-yard run
  • Ages 7-10: 1/3-mile run, 2-mile bike, 1/3-mile run. 
  • Ages 11-14: 2/3-mile run, 4-mile bike, 2/3-mile run. 

There will be a transition area where racers transfer from foot to bike and back to foot.  Certain portions of the bike path will be clearly designated as No Passing Zones. Passing in these areas will result in immediate disqualification.
