One of America’s Rock Greats KANSAS Returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse on June 26

One of America’s greatest and most successful progressive rock bands, Kansas – known for such hits as “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” returns to The Ridgefield Playhouse and Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity, on Sunday, June 26 at 8 p.m. after a sold out show in 2015. KANSAS, the highly respected and constantly in-demand group, has produced eight Gold albums, three sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of), one Platinum live album (Two for the Show) and a million-selling gold single "Dust in the Wind.”

KANSAS appeared on the Billboard ®charts for more than 200 weeks in the '70s and '80s and played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. "Carry On Wayward Son" was reignited as the #2 most played track on classic rock radio in 1995 and went to #1 in 1997. The show is partially underwritten by Miller Motorcars, who will display their super luxury and super sports cars outside the Playhouse before the show. New Rochelle based musician Artie Tobia starts the night off with a mix of roots and rock. Make it a great night out with dinner and a show – visit Luna Rossa (90 Danbury Road, Ridgefield) and enjoy a special 3-course pre-show menu when tickets are presented.

Along with touring, KANSAS continues to remain a fixture of Classic Rock radio and has reached a whole new audience through their unmistakable presence on the popular video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and through their songs inclusion in various television shows such as ‘Supernatural,’ and ‘South Park,’ and with films ‘Old School,’ and ‘Anchorman.’ KANSAS is a featured artist of media sponsor 95.9fm The Fox Classic Rock.

Hardrock Haven gave kudos to KANSAS in concert: “Fans in attendance ranged in age from seven to seventy and all were there to enjoy Kansas in the best of all possible places, a live setting. This show took one back, reminiscing of special times…those memories have lasted a lifetime. One can only hope that future generations of KANSAS fans have memories with the music such as this.” KANSAS is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, and original guitarist Richard Williams. KANSAS signed a new recording contract with InsideOut Music in late -2015. The band's 15th studio album is scheduled to be released Fall 2016.
