Fans will “Walk 500 Miles” to see The Proclaimers on September 21 at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Best known for the hit singles "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," "Sunshine on Leith," "I'm On My Way," and "Letter From America," the identical Scottish twins known as The Proclaimers bring a night of hits and new music from their latest album, 2015’s Let’s Hear It For the Dogs to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, September 21 at 8:00 pm. Craig and Charlie Reid have enjoyed huge, worldwide success throughout their years as a band. The quirky pair have carved a niche for their brand of sing-along raucousness and witty, vulnerable songwriting at the junction of pop, folk, new wave and punk. With both Gold and Platinum singles and albums in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, The Proclaimers have found their way into the hearts and headphones of fans spanning nearly three generations.

Before this Pepsi Rock Series Powered by Xfinity and Ingersoll Auto of Danbury World Music Series performance, ticket holders can enjoy a free wine tasting in the lobby at 7:15 pm courtesy of The Wine Group/Benziger Family Winery. Kicking off the night is Jenny O – the California singer-songwriter, with a ’60 and ‘70s vibe, that started her career with her self-produced Home EP. Songs from this record were licensed for film and television, and earned her tours with artists like Ben Harper, Leon Russell, and Father John Misty. Soon after, Jenny released her debut full-length album, Automechanic, and toured separately with Rodrigo Amarante and Mexican-American psychedelic musician Rodriguez across the U.S. and Europe. Jenny appeared with her band on Last Call With Carson Daly and recorded the theme song for ABC's Selfie, as well as a Coca-Cola commercial for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. In 2014 LA Weekly named her one of The 10 Best Young L.A. Singer-Songwriters and in 2015 she has won the Holly Prize/Song Writers Hall of Fame. Media sponsor for this great night of music is 90.7fm WFUV.

The Proclaimers songs have been used extensively in advertisements across the World and the list of movies they have featured in includes The Commitments, The Crossing, Mama's Boy, Bottle Rocket, Benny & Joon, Shrek, Dumb & Dumber, Bye Bye Love, Burke And Hare, The Angel's Share, Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect. Craig and Charlie have reached the rarefied status that few have been able to achieve: with nearly three decades of career longevity, they are as innovative as ever and with every album and show played, they've continued to garner new fans.
