Spirited and Soulful at Shir Shalom in Ridgefield on September 9

Musical guests to enhance the Shabbat worship have been part of Cantor Deborah Katchko-Gray’s musical mission and this coming year is no exception. Beginning September 9 with Beth Styles, a spirited and soulful musical Shabbat worship will include new melodies, beloved gems, instrumentalists and teens. Beth Styles will be the first of several Spirited and Soulful Shabbat services. The community is welcome to attend.

Beth Styles is a versatile producer/composer/musician/vocalist, whose work is devoted to bringing people together through the power of love and music. Beth founded the New World Chorus, a 30-voice community multifaith choir based in Stamford, where she produces inspirational events throughout the year. She has collaborated with diverse houses of worship, clergy and leadership of many spiritual paths to produce compelling annual multi-faith events including the Thanksgiving service “A Time to be Grateful,” and “Season of Miracles,” a joyful celebration of Spring. She is also the creator of the “Living Voice Project,” which sources inspiring programs of the arts for people living with a form of dementia such as Alzheimer’s.

As a writer/arranger of Jewish liturgical and contemporary spiritual music, Beth created “The Shabbat Experience,” a unique and transformative journey of peace, music and meditation. She is one of the winners of the 2016 “Shalshelet” award for new Jewish music and currently serves as Artist in Residence, at Temple Sinai of Stamford and the 2016 JCC Maccabi Games and ArtsFest.
Beth has written an extensive catalogue of original music ranging from Contemporary Spiritual, Jewish Liturgical, Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Theater, Folk and Funk to Film Scoring and Children’s Music. She has worked with artists including Diana Ross, Ronnie Spector, and Shlomo Carlebach z”l. Her multi-media production studio is located in Stamford, CT and gives life to creative visions and dreams.
With passionate spiritual roots as well as a long time education in transformational studies, Beth’s music is designed to touch and inspire. Beth and Cantor Katchko-Gray co-wrote a song called, Shir Shalom to celebrate the creation of Congregation Shir Shalom.
