Get into the Holiday Spirit at The Ridgefield Playhouse! Ridgefield Academy Family Series presents “A Dickens Tale” - a retelling of the beloved Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol - on Saturday, November 19 at 11am and 2pm. In this family friendly production, which is partially underwritten by Books on the Common, South Salem Animal Hospital and Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital, the audience will meet the mean old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, known for his penny pinching ways. Scrooge is visited by three spirits on a snowy Christmas Eve. These ghostly visits reveal Scrooge’s past, present and future to him and fill him with newfound hope and joy in the Christmas season!
The show features all the classic characters from old Scrooge, bumbling Cratchit, Jacob Marley, the three ghostly visitors, a hilarious beggar woman and more – while teaching lessons about friendship, generosity, and the true meaning of Christmas. An unsuspecting audience member even has the opportunity to join our actors on stage in the role of Tiny Tim! After the show, you can meet the cast in the lobby and have your book signed! Before or after the show, visit Dimitri’s Diner (16 Prospect Street, Ridgefield) and enjoy 10% off your bill when tickets are presented! Media sponsors for this event are Macaroni Kid (Danbury-Bethel-Ridgefield) and Danbury’s 98Q.
